Renting a GPU
Machine types, the options on the order page, quotes, and what sold-out and ready machines mean.
Machine types
The GPU list has a tab for each machine type. All current cards are Full VM.
| Type | What you get | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Full VM | A whole virtual machine with its own kernel. Root, systemd, Docker and driver-level tools work. | Available |
| Docker | A GPU container on a shared host. Root inside the container and Docker included; the kernel belongs to the host. Usually cheaper. | Coming soon |
| Bare metal | A whole physical server. | Coming soon |
Docker and bare metal machines will appear as providers join.
Options on the order page
- GPU count. How many GPUs of that card the machine has.
- CPU and memory. Pick one of the options shown for the card.
- Image. Ubuntu 22.04 with CUDA 12.4, or Ubuntu 24.04 with CUDA 13.0.
- Duration. A number of hours, or whole days. Multi-day bookings get a small discount.
- Data disk. Optional. It is mounted at
/data. - Bandwidth. Anything above 32 Mbps is reserved up front; see Billing.
Both images include the NVIDIA driver, Docker, Python 3 and pip, git, tmux, htop, nvtop, jq, rsync and gcc.
Price and quote
Prices are per GPU-hour. Before you pay, the order page shows a quote with the total for the options you chose. A quote is valid for two minutes. If it runs out, get a new quote before paying; the price can change.
Payment comes from your balance. If your balance is too low, add funds first.
After you pay
The machine is usually reachable in about a minute. Every machine is checked before access is given. When it is ready, the instance page shows the SSH command. Continue with Connecting and working.
Sold-out cards and ready machines
A sold-out card can still show “N ready, fixed setup”. That is a machine that has already been prepared with 1 GPU, one CPU and memory option and the default image. You can rent it as it is, but you cannot change those settings.
Sold-out rows can also show when machines are expected to be free. These times are estimates, not reservations.
